Following the example of our grandmother Ivy, we encourage biodiversity around us wherever we can. We sow herbal leys in our fields, restore hedges and collaborate with the Woodland Trust to plant trees. We leave uncultivated areas to wildflowers and install bird boxes and insect hotels to encourage species conservation and diversity. We pay particular attention to keeping our soil healthy, rotating feed crops and grazing to ensure its quality.
Our cows graze freely for as much of the year as possible. We monitor them closely using state-of-the-art equipment that ensures we can identify health and wellbeing problems faster than ever, and are working to reduce antimicrobial use both in our own herds and those of suppliers.
We also do all we can to ensure that we are an accountable and responsible part of our local community, as farmers, producers and employers. We run initiatives to open up the dairy industry, run our own Visitor Centre, and aim to be a beacon of sustainable farming and food production throughout the United Kingdom.

Ivy’s Reserve was created by our grandmother, a pioneer cheesemaker, talented cook, countrywoman and nature-lover. A century later, her Cheddar and butter have won countless awards and are now enjoyed around the world.
